Information we collect

FamilyGoal stores the information needed to operate shared spaces, including account email, family-member profiles, planning content you intentionally add, and App Store or web-billing subscription and transaction metadata needed to provide paid access.

If you choose Google Sign-In, we may receive basic Google account information such as your name, email address, profile image, and the Google account identifier needed to authenticate you and link that sign-in method to your FamilyGoal account.

How we use information

We use stored data to provide core product functionality such as authentication, family collaboration, scheduling, shopping, planning, budgeting, and communication inside the application.

We also use account and subscription data to enforce plan limits, determine billing state, operate trials, display billing notices, and protect the service against fraud or abuse.

Email and authentication

Sign-in links and verification codes are delivered by email. Email addresses may also be used to connect invited family members to their accounts after they authenticate.

FamilyGoal also offers Google Sign-In using Google's OAuth and OpenID Connect mechanisms. When you use Google Sign-In, we use the Google account data provided to us only to authenticate you, create or link your FamilyGoal account, maintain your session, support account recovery, and help protect the service against abuse or unauthorized access.

Our current Google Sign-In flow is intended for basic identity and account access only. We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or other Google account content as part of this sign-in flow unless we clearly tell you otherwise in advance and update this policy first.

To reduce automated abuse of sign-in email requests, the sign-in page also uses Cloudflare Turnstile as a bot-detection and verification service before a magic link is sent.

Data sharing

Household information is shared within a space according to the permissions and visibility rules configured in the app. We do not present this product as an advertising platform.

We may share the minimum information needed with infrastructure, authentication, security, analytics, email, Apple, RevenueCat, and web-billing providers that help operate the service. RevenueCat may receive an app user identifier, account email and display name when available, product and transaction metadata, and subscription or entitlement status to validate purchases, provide support, and keep paid access synchronized. We do not store full payment card numbers in the FamilyGoal database.

We do not sell Google user data and we do not use Google user data obtained through Google Sign-In for advertising, retargeting, profiling for ads, or unrelated data brokerage purposes.

Data retention and deletion

We retain account and household data for as long as it is needed to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

If a paid subscription enters a grace period or becomes past due, we may retain account and space data while billing is being resolved. If a subscription is canceled and not restored, associated spaces may be scheduled for automatic deletion three months after cancellation. Backups, security logs, financial records, and other legally or operationally required records may be retained for longer.

Demo space

The public demo space uses seeded sample data so visitors can try the product without signing in. Demo changes are temporary and kept only in the browser memory for that page session. Refreshing or leaving the demo restores the default sample data.

The demo does not intentionally store demo interactions in local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, or a FamilyGoal backend database. Demo AI, notification, upload, account, billing, and deletion flows are previews only and do not perform the corresponding production actions.

Your choices

Space owners control FamilyGoal plan choices. The Apple Account or web billing account that made a purchase controls that subscription. Members may see billing-related status notices but cannot change another person’s billing account.

If you use Google Sign-In, you can revoke FamilyGoal's access from your Google account permissions at any time. Revoking access may prevent future Google-based sign-ins until you authorize the connection again. You can also contact us if you want help updating or deleting the related FamilyGoal account data.
